I have, once more, run against the ever present problem of having a million ideas and yet not being independently wealthy and thus not being able to pay for those ideas. The rings posted below are an example of this. This pattern, four sapphire baguettes in a square around a single diamond, has been hugely popular. It is part of the reason I purchased the ring I did. (see photo).
It seemed a simple pattern to me. Five stone flush set into some metal, But when I asked my jeweler friend she was not interested. I can only assume it, like so many other things, requires a lot more work than it is worth.
I will never forget one of the first art deco rings I saw. It had onyx and sapphire panels surrounding a single diamond. It was breathtaking, it was stunning, I wanted it and I had no right wanting it. Or that is what I thought at the time. Even now I sometimes look at how much I have seen and how many pieces I have worn or sold and I can't believe it.
I guess it comes down to never say never. Probably also has something to do with having a very patient husband and very supportive friends. Ah well. Posting a pic of the ring that is currently drawing all the traffic on my site. I can't say I want to see it go and yet if it is sold I will have money to purchase a few of the other things on my ever-growing list.
