One of the writing prompts I give almost every class is to imagine what they would do if they were given one million dollars. Enter inflation (and a recession). Apparently a million isn't enough anymore. I mean honestly, you need at least 682 million to become Batman (awesome article that breaks this down available Here ). So how much would you need to be able to not worry about money at all. I would go with a cool Billion.
All of it made me think about what type of pieces I would purchase first.

| 1. Pearls in whatever form you like |
First is the classic strand of white pearls. Cultured pearls have become very affordable and are readily available online. If you want something a bit more expensive try Akoya or South Sea pearls.

Coming in at #2 is the classic set of Diamond stud earrings. I went for something a big different with the emerald cut and halo setting but the classic round or princess is available everywhere. This is a piece I hope to have someday. While we are on the topic of stud earrings. The pair to the right were made by me. Solid silver with freshwater pearl and diamond. One of these days I am making myself a pair like this to keep. Next on the list the classic diamond bracelet.

There are few pieces more classic than the diamond tennis bracelet. This is a 3ct version in 18k white gold. (see bigger one on next post). And of course there is always Tahitian pearls like the ones below.

Stunning pair available on Etsy. Once again the simple look of pearls and diamonds is just perfect and timeless.
Last but certainly not least....the birthstone. This is great for pendants, bracelets, earrings or rings. Here are a few of my favorite examples.
